Lady Tigers Victorious Over Southern Wells (12 - 2) Win Madyson Sonnigsen collected three hits in three at bats, as Bluffton defeated Southern Wells 12-2. Sonnigsen doubled in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the fifth inning. The Lady Tigers got on teh board in the bottom of the first inning after Sonnigsen doubled, scoring one run, Konley Ault singled, scoring two runs, and Krista Blair doubled, scoring one run. Bluffton added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Sonnigsen doubled to left field, Ault singled to right field, and Bluffton scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run. A sacrifice fly by Sonnigsen, and a ground out by Ault helped the Lady Tigers extend their lead early in the third. On the mound, Sonnigsen earned the win. She allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking four. Ault drove the middle of the lineup, leading Bluffton with four RBIs. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Bluffton had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Marly Drayer and Jillian Phillippe led the team with two free passes each. Bluffton ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.
